Charlton

Charlton is a pretty little town on the banks of the Avoca River about 247 kilometres north west of Melbourne.

The idyllic, tree-lined town is home to a vibrant community of more than 1,200 people vested mainly in broadacre farming and local business.

The natural beauty of the Avoca River defines Charlton. The Traveller's Rest stopover in the centre of town is the home base for visitors to meander around town or along the river walk amongst the red gums and native birdlife.
